Terms of service
These terms govern your use of easydharma.com and any booking you make through us. Please read section 5, section 6, section 7, section 8, section 9, and section 18 with particular care. They set out what we are responsible for and what we are not.
1. Who we are
EasyDharma is operated by Atha Yoga Anushasanam Private Limited, a company incorporated in India under the Companies Act, 2013.
Contact: hello@easydharma.com
In these terms, "EasyDharma", "we", "us", and "our" mean Atha Yoga Anushasanam Private Limited. "You", "your", and "the seeker" mean the individual using our website or booking through us.
2. Definitions
Spiritual space means any ashram, monastery, retreat centre, sangha, hermitage, teaching institution, or other independent third-party organisation listed on EasyDharma.
Experience means any stay, retreat, course, satsang, day visit, immersion, residency, seva placement, or other programme conducted by a spiritual space and listed on EasyDharma.
TruPath means our free questionnaire and the archetype result it produces.
Booking fee means the amount a seeker pays EasyDharma for arranging a booking. It is separate from, and additional to, any amount the seeker pays a spiritual space.
Contribution means the amount a spiritual space charges or requests for an experience, whether described as a fee, tariff, tuition, donation, or contribution.
3. Acceptance of these terms
By using our website, completing TruPath, submitting a booking request, or paying a booking fee, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time you use the service. If we make a material change, we will note the change date at the top of this page. Your continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to book through EasyDharma. We do not knowingly provide services to minors and we do not arrange bookings for minors. If you are between 18 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the service only with the consent of your parent or legal guardian.
You confirm that the information you give us is true, current, and complete, and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
5. What we do
EasyDharma is a booking platform. We publish information about spiritual spaces and the experiences they offer, and we arrange bookings between seekers and those spaces. Specifically, we may:
a. publish listings describing spiritual spaces and their experiences, based on what those spaces have told us;
b. offer TruPath, a free questionnaire that returns an archetype result, and surface experiences that may be of interest based on that result;
c. pass your booking request to a spiritual space and tell you whether it can host you and on what dates;
d. confirm your booking and send you practical logistics information for your arrival, such as directions, timings, what to bring, and the space's stated rules; and
e. charge you a booking fee for arranging the booking.
That is the whole of what we do.
6. What we do not do
You acknowledge and agree that EasyDharma does not, and does not hold itself out to:
a. provide preparation, coaching, consulting, mentoring, teaching, spiritual guidance, counselling, or advice of any kind. We are not your guide, teacher, adviser, or consultant. Nothing on our website or in any communication from us is advice, and you should not treat it as advice;
b. own, operate, manage, staff, fund, supervise, control, or exercise any authority over any spiritual space;
c. set, influence, or control any spiritual space's rates, contributions, schedules, rules, discipline, admission decisions, teaching content, practices, personnel, food, accommodation, sanitation, or safety arrangements;
d. act as a travel agent, tour operator, or tour organiser within the meaning of any applicable law, or sell or resell any experience in its own right;
e. accept payment on behalf of any spiritual space, or act as agent, trustee, or collection agent for any spiritual space;
f. inspect, certify, accredit, license, audit, or guarantee any spiritual space, its premises, its personnel, or its practices;
g. provide medical, psychiatric, psychological, therapeutic, nutritional, or emergency care of any kind, or assess your fitness to undertake any practice;
h. provide legal, immigration, visa, tax, or insurance advice;
i. guarantee that any experience will be available, will proceed as described, will be conducted by any particular teacher, or will produce any particular outcome, insight, benefit, healing, realisation, or experience; or
j. guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information a spiritual space has given us about itself.
No listing, description, TruPath result, or suggestion published by us is a warranty, endorsement, certification, recommendation, or assurance of quality, suitability, or safety. A TruPath result is a self-assessment tool for your own reflection. It is not a diagnosis, an assessment of your fitness, or advice about what you should do.
7. The arrangement between you and the spiritual space
EasyDharma is not a party to your arrangement with any spiritual space. That arrangement is between you and the space alone.
a. Your admission is decided by the spiritual space, at its sole discretion, on its own criteria. We cannot secure, promise, or guarantee admission.
b. The spiritual space's own terms, rules, discipline, code of conduct, cancellation policy, and refund policy govern your stay. You are responsible for reading them and complying with them. Where they conflict with these terms, the space's terms govern your stay and these terms govern your relationship with us.
c. You pay the spiritual space directly, in the amount and by the method the space specifies. We do not collect, hold, process, remit, or take any share of that amount. We are not the seller or merchant of record for any experience.
d. Any dispute about an experience, a contribution, a refund from a space, or anything that occurred at a space, is between you and that space. We will pass on your communications in good faith, but we have no authority to compel any outcome and no liability for the outcome.
8. Health, suitability, and assumption of risk
Please read this section carefully. It matters more than any other part of these terms.
a. Spiritual practice can be physically and psychologically demanding. Experiences may involve extended sitting meditation, prolonged silence, early rising and restricted sleep, fasting or restricted diet, intensive breathwork or pranayama, physical asana or manual labour, isolation from family and communication, basic sanitation, remote locations far from medical facilities, extreme heat or cold, and exposure to insects, animals, and unfamiliar pathogens.
b. Intensive contemplative practice can, in some people, precipitate or worsen anxiety, depression, dissociation, depersonalisation, sleep disturbance, mania, psychosis, or the resurfacing of trauma. This is documented and it is not rare at the deeper end of practice.
c. You must disclose, honestly and in full, any physical or mental health condition, current or past psychiatric diagnosis, history of trauma, current medication, allergy, dietary requirement, pregnancy, or disability that may be relevant to your safety, both to us where we ask and to the spiritual space where it asks. Withholding or misstating this information is a material breach of these terms.
d. You alone decide whether an experience is suitable for you. We are not qualified to make that decision and we do not make it. If you have any existing physical or mental health condition, or are taking any medication, you must consult a qualified medical practitioner before booking and before travelling. We recommend you do so in any event.
e. We may decline to arrange a booking, or may withdraw from arranging one, at our discretion, including where we form the view in good faith that it may not be safe or suitable for you. This is a discretion, not a duty, and our exercise or non-exercise of it creates no liability and is not an assessment of your fitness.
f. You knowingly and voluntarily assume all risk arising from your participation in any experience, your travel to and from it, and your presence at any spiritual space, including risk of illness, injury, psychological distress, disability, loss or damage to property, theft, and death.
9. What happens at a spiritual space
Without limiting section 6, section 7, or section 18, EasyDharma is not responsible or liable for anything that occurs at, on the way to, or on the way from a spiritual space, including:
a. the acts, omissions, statements, teaching, conduct, negligence, or misconduct of any spiritual space, its trustees, teachers, gurus, monastics, staff, volunteers, residents, or other visitors;
b. injury, illness, allergic reaction, food poisoning, infection, psychological distress, psychiatric episode, disability, or death;
c. the quality, safety, cleanliness, or condition of accommodation, food, water, sanitation, or facilities;
d. the availability, competence, conduct, or absence of any teacher or guide;
e. the content, method, intensity, or effect of any practice, teaching, instruction, initiation, or ritual;
f. loss, theft, or damage to your money, documents, devices, or belongings;
g. cancellation, postponement, shortening, alteration, or early termination of an experience by the space, for any reason including your conduct;
h. your removal or exclusion from a space by the space;
i. any contribution, deposit, or payment you make to a space, and any refusal by a space to refund it;
j. any harassment, abuse, assault, exploitation, coercion, discrimination, or other wrongdoing by any person at a space;
k. accident, delay, or incident during travel, transfer, or pickup, whether or not the space arranged it; and
l. any dispute between you and a space, or between you and any other person at a space.
Nothing in this section excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for our own fraud or wilful misconduct. See section 18.
10. Conduct and reporting
a. Spiritual spaces accept bookings from us on trust. You agree to conduct yourself with respect for the space, its people, its discipline, and its tradition, to observe its rules on dress, silence, photography, devices, food, intoxicants, and relationships, and to accept that the space may ask you to leave if you do not.
b. You will not use access gained through EasyDharma to solicit, proselytise, film or photograph without permission, conduct commercial activity, or approach a space's residents for any purpose other than your own practice.
c. Reporting. If you experience or witness harm, abuse, coercion, exploitation, or harassment at a space, write to us at hello@easydharma.com. We will acknowledge you promptly, treat what you tell us with care and discretion, take it up with the space where you consent to our doing so, and review that space's listing. We are not an investigative or law enforcement body and we cannot adjudicate, sanction, or compel. Where a criminal offence may have occurred, report it to the police.
d. Nothing in section 9 or section 18 discourages or restricts you from reporting anything to us, to the police, or to any authority.
11. Travel, documents, and insurance
a. You are solely responsible for your passport, visa, permits, and compliance with Indian entry requirements and those of any country you travel through. Requirements change. Verify them with the relevant embassy or consulate. Some spiritual activity in India may require a specific visa category. We do not advise on this.
b. You are solely responsible for your vaccinations, prophylaxis, and medication, and for carrying enough of what you need.
c. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel and medical insurance covering medical treatment, hospitalisation, medical evacuation, repatriation, trip cancellation, and personal belongings, for the whole of your travel and stay. We are not liable for any loss that insurance would have covered.
d. We are not liable for any refusal of boarding, entry, or admission, or for any consequence of any of the above.
12. Fees, payment, and taxes
a. You pay EasyDharma a booking fee for arranging your booking. It is separate from, and additional to, the contribution you pay the spiritual space. We take no share of the space's contribution and we never charge the space.
b. The booking fee applicable to an experience is shown before you pay and is confirmed in your booking confirmation. Fees differ between experiences.
c. Fees are quoted in Indian rupees and are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated. Applicable taxes are added at the prevailing rate.
d. Payments are processed by our payment gateway, Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details. Your use of the gateway is also subject to the gateway's own terms.
e. We may change our fees at any time. A change does not affect a fee already paid for a booking already confirmed.
13. Cancellation and refunds
Our refund and cancellation policy is at https://easydharma.com/refund-policy and forms part of these terms. In summary:
a. There are two separate amounts in any booking, with separate terms: our booking fee, and the contribution you pay the space.
b. Refund terms differ from experience to experience. The terms that apply to your booking, for both amounts, are those shown on the experience listing and in your booking confirmation.
c. Refunds of any amount paid to a spiritual space are governed by that space's own policy, which we do not set and cannot override. We will pass on your request, but we cannot compel a refund and we do not refund the space's contribution ourselves.
14. Information about spiritual spaces
a. Information we publish about a spiritual space comes principally from the space itself. Where we state how we came to know a space, that statement is the limit of what we represent.
b. We do not inspect, certify, or accredit spaces, and we do not describe any space as verified, vetted, approved, or safe.
c. Details change without notice. Confirm anything material with the space, through us, before you travel or commit.
d. Contact details for spaces are held by us for the purpose of arranging bookings and are not published. You agree not to seek to circumvent our booking process in order to obtain them.
15. Your content
a. If you send us reflections, reviews, photographs, or other material, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, edit, and publish it in connection with EasyDharma.
b. We will not publish your name, identifying details, or anything you have marked as private without your specific consent.
c. You confirm that anything you send us is yours to send, is lawful, is not defamatory, and does not infringe anyone's rights. You indemnify us against any claim arising from it.
d. We may decline to publish, may edit, or may remove any content at our discretion.
16. Intellectual property
a. EasyDharma, TruPath, TruMatch, the Dharma Map, our archetypes, our questionnaires, our publications, our copy, our design, and our code are owned by us or licensed to us. All rights are reserved.
b. Your TruPath result and any logistics material we send you are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, resell, or build a derivative or competing service from them.
c. Names, marks, images, and teachings belonging to spiritual spaces, traditions, and teachers remain theirs. We use them for identification and description only, and claim no association or endorsement beyond what a space has agreed to.
17. Prohibited use
You agree not to use our website or services to: break any law; impersonate anyone; scrape, crawl, mine, or systematically extract our content or data; reverse engineer or interfere with our systems; introduce malware; attempt unauthorised access; misrepresent yourself to a spiritual space; harvest contact details; send unsolicited commercial messages; or post anything unlawful, abusive, hateful, defamatory, obscene, or harassing.
18. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
a. Our website and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that our website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any information on it is complete or current.
b. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you, arising from or in connection with these terms or your use of our services, whether in contract, tort, negligence, statute, or otherwise, shall not exceed the total booking fee you actually paid to EasyDharma in respect of the booking giving rise to the claim, or, where no fee was paid, five thousand Indian rupees (INR 5,000).
c. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, data, goodwill, or reputation, or for wasted expenditure, however arising, even if we were advised of the possibility.
d. In particular and without limitation, we are not liable for any amount paid by you to a spiritual space, or for anything set out in section 9.
e. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, our own fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or our own wilful misconduct. Nothing in these terms affects any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 that cannot be contracted out of.
f. The limits in this section reflect the fact that our fee is a modest amount charged for arranging a booking only, that we neither operate spiritual spaces nor receive any part of their contributions, and that you retain the decision whether to travel and to participate.
19. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EasyDharma, its directors, officers, employees, and contractors from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable legal costs, arising from your breach of these terms, your conduct at or in relation to a spiritual space, your misstatement or non-disclosure of health or other material information, your content, or any claim brought against us by a spiritual space or any third party in connection with your booking.
20. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to our services, or decline to arrange any booking, at our discretion, including where you breach these terms, misstate your health or circumstances, or behave in a way that damages our relationship with a spiritual space. Sections 6 to 11, 15, 16, 18, 19, and 21 to 23 survive termination.
21. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including act of God, epidemic, flood, fire, earthquake, landslide, storm, war, terrorism, civil unrest, strike, government action, travel restriction, or failure of transport or communication infrastructure.
22. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to section 23(a), the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
23. General
a. Dispute resolution. Before commencing proceedings, both parties will attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute by discussion for 30 days from written notice.
b. Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder continues in force and the invalid provision is to be read down to the minimum extent necessary rather than struck out.
c. No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
d. Assignment. You may not assign these terms. We may assign them to a successor or affiliate on notice to you.
e. No agency. Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and us, or between us and any spiritual space.
f. Notices. Notices to us go to hello@easydharma.com. Notices to you go to the email address you gave us.
g. Entire agreement. These terms, together with our privacy policy and refund and cancellation policy, are the whole agreement between us on their subject matter.
